Face-to- face valuation & photography guidelines

Following the government update on Tuesday 12th May 2020 & the updated guidelines on Wednesday 13th May 2020, estate agents have been given the green light to re-open and conduct face-to-face valuations and viewings. Here at iMove, although our team are excited to be getting back to what we love doing, we understand that it's not 'business as usual' and our top priority is to offer complete reassurance to our potential new clients who are looking to sell or let, and we have put safety procedures in place for our agents when conducting valuations, photography and viewings.

Face-to-face valuations

Before arriving at your property:

  • Please ensure all internal doors are already open
  • Our agent will conduct as much online research as possible in order to provide you with an accurate valuation on the appointment
  • For a sales valuation, an email will be sent with our 'seven step guide to selling your property'
  • For a lettings valuation, an email will be sent listing our services and fees

On the appointment our agent will:

  • Sanitise their hands before entering your property
  • Maintain social distancing at all times
  • Wear disposable gloves and upon request, a disposable face mask
  • Where possible, refrain from touching anything inside your property
  • Greet you with a smile on arrival and take a look around
  • Ordinarily, we'd love a cup of coffee, but we will have to politely decline!
  • Paperwork won't be left at your property and we will follow everything up in an email, the very next day

Property photography, measurements and floor plan

Before we arrive:

  • Please have your property completely ready for the photography to take place
  • Have your photo ID & proof of address readily available for our agent to take copies of
  • A spare key (if this has been agreed with our agent on the initial valuation for future viewings)

When conducting your photography, measurements and floor plan:

  • If possible, we'd ask that you stay in one room of your property (or in the garden if the weather's nice!) while our agent conducts the photography
  • Sanitise our hands before entering
  • Maintain social distancing at all times
  • Wear disposable gloves and upon request, a disposable face mask
  • Where possible, refrain from touching anything inside your property

Virtual valuations have become the 'new normal' over the past couple of months and we are still offering virtual valuations via 'Zoom' for homeowners who would prefer the initial introduction to not be face-to-face. Don't worry, you don't have to be a computer wiz and our valuer will help get you set up!

For added reassurance to instruct iMove to help you move (or find a suitable tenant), take a look at our viewing policy: https://www.imoveestateagents.co.uk/blog/item/covid-19-our-viewing-policy/12/
