What to look for when choosing an estate agent to market your home

Choosing the right estate agent to market your home is a crucial element when considering your move and there are certain things to look for, and others to avoid. 

Here are a few things you should look for:

• How does their photography look 
• Are their descriptions written well and do you think it gives enough information to a potential buyer
• Do they advertise on all social media platforms 
• Will your property be listed on Rightmove & Zoopla 
• Do they offer floor plans
• Have a read through their Google reviews

What to avoid: 

• Contracts - if an agent is confident they can sell your property and offer great customer service, what’s the need to tie you in? 
• Paying upfront - where’s the motivation to find you a buyer at the best price if you’ve already paid them? 
• Poor quality of marketing and photos - first impressions count!
• Over-valuing - Many agents will want your business and one way to try and win that is to purposely over value your home. This will have a negative impact when you have to reduce!
